The Uniform Fire Code (UFC) Article 64, Section 104.d and 104.e requires lead acid battery installations with more than 100 gallons of electrolyte be equipped with a “liquid-tight” spill-control barrier system. It also requires an approved method, capable of neutralizing a spill from the largest lead acid battery.

In response to these new requirements, Bulldog-SBS offers a spill containment system solution. Our system is quick and easy to install with new battery racks.

How Our System Works

• Bulldog-SBS stocks different size spill pans that can be placed together in multiple combinations to form different spill containment system lengths and widths.
• We provide pillows and connectors that hold the pans together.
• Your rack will fit inside our spill containment system. If you are mounting the racks to the floor, you drill through the pans where needed and silicone the bolt and hole to provide a 100% leak-proof system.

Standard Size Spill Containment Systems

Standard size spill containment systems come in various widths ranging from 12 inches to 42 inches. Each width category offers different size options, defined by their length, width, height, and the number of absorbent pillows included:

• 12″ Width: Lengths vary from 23 to 221 inches, accommodating 2 to 19 pillows.
• 23″ Width: Lengths range from 37 to 217 inches, with 6 to 36 pillows.
• 25″ Width: Options span from 23 to 221 inches in length, including 4 to 38 pillows.
• 28″ Width: Available from 37 to 217 inches in length, holding 6 to 36 pillows.
• 34″ Width: These systems range from 37 to 217 inches in length, featuring 9 to 54 pillows.
• 42″ Width: Length varies from 23 to 221 inches, equipped with 6 to 56 pillows.
• Each system maintains a uniform height of 4 inches.
